The final Star Wars cardback invited fans to "Collect all 92." Yes,
this is where I got the name for my site.
This assortment is frequently referred to as "The Final 15."
79 + 15 = 94
A new R2-D2 in this assortment removed a previous
version from the count.
94 - 1 = 93
Though no card back ever advertised it, there were actually 93 figures
in all to collect. You can catch a glimpse on the
Planetary Maps
that were included in the toys that were released with this assortment.
The 93rd figure, Yak Face is one of the most sought-after figures in the
line as it was never released in the U.S.
Each of the figures was packaged with a special coin depicting the character
and describing its place in the Star Wars Universe.
22 previous released figures were also released on this cardback. So, even though
you could collect all 92 uh, 93, only 37 uh, 36 were readily available, despite the
invitation to collect all 62 coins.
Kenner soon gave up on the line and released a refresh sticker for all the
remaining stock offering the coins by mail.
See my Coins section for more
details on the coins.
